It all began in 1860 in the small village of Sonvilier, Switzerland. Here Louis-Ulysse Chopard, a talented young craftsman, established his workshop. By virtue of their precision and reliability, his watches quickly gained a solid reputation among enthusiasts and found buyers as far afield as Eastern Europe, Russia and Scandinavia.
Chopard has remained a fully independent family firm to this day. Running and developing a company such as Chopard could not be done without a precise and rigorous set of governing principles and a vast reservoir of in-house expertise and excellence uniting more than 45 different crafts within the twin fields of luxury watch- and jewellery-making.
For over a century and a half, Chopard creations have been a perfect complement to haute couture dresses, adorning most glamorous actresses and models worldwide.
