In a fitting tribute to over 170 years of timekeeping innovation and precision, Ulysse Nardin has launched three highly desirable Vintage Edition timepieces.
Based on some of the legendary timepieces that have emerged from the manufacture in Le Locle, Switzerland over the last 72 years, these mechanical timekeepers celebrate the achievements of the past, while looking firmly to the future. The Diver Le Locle, the Classico Paul David Nardin and the Classic Perpetual Ludwig represent the excellence of Ulysse Nardin design and performance, providing a new source of inspiration for today’s mechanical watchmakers and the collectors who appreciate their craft.
Classico Paul David Nardin
Named after Ulysse Nardin’s son, Paul David, who took control of the company after his death in 1876, the Classico Paul David Nardin is modeled after a 1945 timepiece.
Its elegant styling marks it instantly as belonging to the Classic Collection, with a few differences, like the vintage-inspired silverized dial with Arabic indexes.
Housed in a 39 mm steel case, complemented by a beautiful calf brown leather strap, the self-winding UN-320 manufacture movement drives the circular small seconds indicator and round date window at 6 o’clock.
Classic Perpetual Ludwig
The release of the Classic Perpetual Ludwig timepiece celebrates this illustrious history with resolutely modern aplomb.
Master watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin was renowned for his knack of finding the most direct solutions to the most complex problems. It was his genius that was behind the first perpetual calendar timepiece in 1996.
A watch that enabled forward and backward date adjustments using a single crown was unprecedented in Haute Horlogerie.
Today, the unrivalled UN-33 perpetual calendar movement is the beating heart of this eternal classic, behind the calendar settings on the dial.
Diver Le Locle
Inspired by a 1964 model from the house collection, this diving watch might look like the vintage original, but the technology is pure 2017.
A self-winding UN-320 manufacture movement integrates silicium technology. A magnified date at 3 o’clock can be quickly set both forwards and backwards.
The Diver Le Locle is a diving watch to its core, as the legible Super Luminova indexes, unidirectional bezel, 100 m water-resistance and the durable sailcloth strap can attest.
